MODI LEFT NEPAL FOR BIMSTEC SUMMIT 2018

On Thursday morning 30 August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for neighboring country Nepal. The Prime Minister OF India will be present in the fourth conference of the BIMSTEC (Bengal Initiative for the Regional Technical and Economic Cooperation) Summit.

This summit is important for all BIMSTEC international organization of seven nations of South Asia and South East Asia. The countries in BIMSTEC SUMMIT are –  India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

After SAARC summit boycotted by India this summit get more important for the trade and for various connectivity of neighbored countries. At the beginning of the program, of  BIMSTEC leader will jointly meet the President of Nepal, President Devi Bhandari in Conference on August 30.

MODI IN NEPAL BIMSTEC SUMMIT

After this, the conference will conclude on August 31 as it is for two days. The full opening session of the conference will be held on 31 of august. After the conference, a joint declaration will also be issued. BIMSTEC SUMMIT came into being on June 6, 1997 through the announcement of Bangkok.

This includes seven countries are Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The population of these 7 countries in the group is 1.5 billion, that is 21 percent of the world population and the group’s gross domestic product is $25 billion.

BIMSTEC SUMMIT

The objective of BIMSTEC SUMMIT is to establish technical and economic cooperation between all these countries, the South Asian and Southeast Asian countries located in Bay of Bengal region.

BIMSTEC is important for the first policy of India and the neighborhood. Two years after organizing the BIMSTEC conference in Goa, now the group members will meet in Kathmandu on 30 of Ausust for that Modi left for kathmandu.

This will increase the bilateral relations with the countries. The main focus of this summit is to increase cooperation among the countries. Pakistan is not included in this group as pakistan wants china to be head of the group so that china influence is more on countries.
