World Nutrition Day is being celebrated on 28th May 2022 across the world. It is a day that is marked every year by institutions such as the Spanish Federation of Societies of Nutrition, Food and Dietetics (FESNAD). They also refer to the occasion as ‘Dia Nacional de la Nutricion’ in Spanish.

World Nutrition Day 2022 is meant to bring attention to the importance of good nutrition. The United Nations too has declared 2016-2025 as the Decade of Action on Nutrition. As per the UN, 3 billion people cannot afford a healthy diet and nearly 768 million people across the world are undernourished. Further, a healthy and nutritious diet can potentially reduce health costs by up to 97% by 2030.
