West Bengal Congress MLA Qazi Abdur Rahim Joins Trinamool

A Congress legislator in conjunction with his supporters joined the Trinamool Congress on Saturday.
Baduria MLA Qazi Abdur Rahim joined the ruling party in West Bengal at its headquarters within the presence of senior ministers Firhad Hakim and Partha Chatterjee.
“I’ve realised that Didi (Leader Minister Mamata Banerjee) is the one hope within the battle towards the BJP. So, I’m becoming a member of the TMC to give a boost to her hand,” Mr Rahim stated.
Senior Congress chief Manoj Chakraborty stated the induction of opposition Congress and CPI(M) MLAs into the TMC displays the ruling party’s goal to “weaken secular forces” within the state.
The Congress had received 44 seats within the 2016 meeting elections however 18 of its MLAs have converted to the ruling TMC since then.
Alternatively, barring former Sabang legislator Manas Bhunia, who later become a Rajya Sabha MP, not one of the Congress turncoats have resigned from their MLA posts.
But even so Rahim, former BJP Mahila Morcha vp Moumita Basu Chakraborty and a few retired bureaucrats additionally joined the TMC.
