Watch: Vehicle crashes into Texas hospital’s emergency room, one dead
A vehicle crashed into the emergency room lobby around 5.30 pm at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, Texas.
The driver died despite resuscitation efforts.
Five others sustained injuries, including two children; one child faced life-threatening conditions. The crash prompted the relocation of eight patients and a temporary ER closure to ambulances, although walk-ins were still accepted.
Preliminary investigations by Austin police suggested the collision was not intentional. The hospital, known for comprehensive care, including surgeries, continued to operate despite the damage to its entrance and an aquarium.
