Watch: Moment plane crashed on busy Florida highway

On February 10, a Bombardier Challenger 600 jet, operated by Hop-A-Jet Worldwide Jet Charter, crashed onto the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Naples, Florida.

The aircraft, en route from Columbus, Ohio, to Naples Airport with a final destination of Fort Lauderdale, experienced a catastrophic dual engine failure on approach. The chilling moment of impact was captured by a trucker’s dashcam, showing the jet skidding and erupting into flames upon collision. This footage has become a crucial piece of evidence in understanding the sequence of events leading to the crash.

The accident claimed the lives of the pilot, Edward Daniel Murphy, and co-pilot, Ian Frederick Hofmann. Miraculously, three passengers survived.
