Watch: Japanese Vlogger Tries Indian Food In Tokyo, His Reactions Are Viral



A recent viral video showing a Japanese vlogger trying Indian food in Tokyo is winning many hearts online. It’s not just the food that has caught desis’ attention. The man is also heard speaking Hindi as he ‘reviews’ the dishes he tastes. In the reel by @koki_shishido, the vlogger starts by declaring that he has decided to take up a 24-hour Indian food challenge in Tokyo. His first stop is the Nishi-Kasai locality, which he says is known as “Tokyo ka Chhota India” [“Tokyo’s Little India”]. He visits an Indian restaurant and proceeds to order chole bhature and pani puri.

However, he found the prices to be rather expensive, as he said, “Thoda mehenga ho gaya bhai.” The plate of chole bhature costs 1200 yen (approx Rs 660) and the pani puri costs 770 yen (approx Rs 425, as per current exchange rates). He points out that you can get pani puri in Mumbai for only Rs 20. Nevertheless, he says “Chole bhature was really tasty. Bahut achchha laga [I liked it a lot].”

After his meal, the vlogger and his companion visited a desi “kirana dukan” (a type of grocery store). He tried samosa and gulab jamun there. He called the latter “the sweetest food in the world” as he found the level of sweetness too much for his taste. After this outing, the duo went to a famous Indian restaurant for dinner, where they relished North Indian delicacies. They enjoyed unlimited naan with different gravies.
