Watch: Comic Con Trailers for “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”
Marvel teased a ton of upcoming projects this past weekend at Comic Con, including the Disney+ series “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” in which Letitia Wright’s fan favorite Shuri is rumored to be succeeding the late Chadwick Boseman as the titular superhero. New trailers were unveiled for both titles.
The “She-Hulk” spot sees Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), the cousin of Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), learning to control her Hulk abilities — and balancing this new part of her life with her law career. Jennifer’s worlds collide when her boss informs her the firm is setting up a division for “eccentric superhumans” like herself and “She-Hulk [will] be the face of it.”
This poses a challenge since Jennifer isn’t used to the pomp and circumstance — and public spotlight — of life as a superhero. “I am a lawyer,” she says. “We do things by the book.”
“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” premieres August 17 on Disney+. Jennifer Gao (“Silicon Valley”) serves as head writer, and Kat Coiro (“Dead to Me”) and Anu Valia (“Never Have I Ever”) direct.
Meanwhile, the teaser for the “Black Panther” sequel focuses on the women of Wakanda as they mourn King T’Challa/Black Panther (Boseman) and figure out how to move forward. “I am queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone,” Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), T’Challa’s mother, declares. “Have I not given everything?”
We also see glimpses of Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, Danai Gurira’s Okoye, and a new, unidentified character played by “I May Destroy You” star-creator Michaela Coel.
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is set to hit theaters November 11. Director Ryan Coogler also helmed the first “Black Panther,” the domestic box office’s highest-grossing film of 2018. The critical and commercial smash earned over $1 billion worldwide.
