Video: North Carolina woman collapses on stage after winning million dollars in lottery
A woman from the US state of North Carolina collapsed on stage in disbelief after she won a million dollars in a New Year’s Eve lottery. A video of her reaction was shared on social media, which shows her falling to the ground after the lottery winner’s announcement.
The woman, Pamela Bradshaw, who had never visited New York City previously, earned a VIP trip to the city through a second-chance drawing organised by the state lottery, according to a report by The New York Post.
She was among the five Powerball players selected nationwide with the opportunity to win $1 million.
The incident unfolded when New Year’s Rockin’ Eve event host Ryan Seacrest called out her winning number shortly after midnight. “Pamela! You’re a millionaire!” exclaimed Seacrest as Bradshaw fell to the ground.
Upon getting back on her feet, with assistance from the host and her daughter Joanna Hinson, a stunned Bradshaw exclaimed, “Oh my god!” and later expressed her gratitude, stating, “I’m so blessed.”
Bradshaw expressed her plans to buy a new home with the lottery money, the New York Post reported.
“I would love to have my own home that is mine and that I feel safe in. Not anything fancy or big, just a little cottage or something with one or two bedrooms,” she said, as quoted in the report.
