Trump, Putin call for end to Ukraine war, maritime and energy ceasefire in focus in first steps towards peace
In a two-hour long telephonic interaction, Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to a 30-day halt on strikes targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, as reported by the Kremlin.
The White House also announced fresh Ukraine peace talks starting immediately in the Middle East, with both Trump and Putin supporting an “energy and infrastructure ceasefire” as a step toward resolving the conflict.
