Trailer Watch: A Is Back in “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”
Goodbye Rosewood, hello Millwood. “Pretty Little Liars” is back with a new setting, cast, and mystery in HBO Max spinoff series “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.” Like its predecessor, the series follows a group of teen girls (Bailee Madison, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco, Chandler Kinney, and Zaria) being tormented by an unknown assailant known as A.
A trailer for “Original Sin” sees the new Little Liars investigating the past to make sense of their nightmarish present. It turns out that the girls’ mothers were friends when they were in high school. The girls are convinced that “can’t be a coincidence.” “What aren’t they telling us?” they wonder.
The foursome learn the story of Angela Waters, a classmate of their moms who died by suicide at a 1999 party. As they put puzzle pieces together, the girls begin to fear for their lives.
The original “Pretty Little Liars” aired for seven seasons. Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, and Sasha Pieterse led the cast of the ABC Family/Freeform mystery.
“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” launches July 28. Lisa Soper (“Riverdale”) directed its pilot.
