Texas school shooting: Bestselling author Stephen King says 2-day Twitter outrage isn’t enough


A day after the Texas school shooting incident, author Stephen King said that a 2-day Twitter outrage isn’t enough to curb such incidents.

Bestselling author Stephen King condemned the Texas school shooting incident that claimed the lives of 19 students and two teachers in the United States.

Taking to Twitter, Stephen King said that two-day Twitter outrage isn’t enough. “2-day Twitter outrage doesn’t cut it. When you step into the voting booth this fall, VOTE GUN CONTROL,” tweeted the author.

In another tweet, Stephen King called for “Gun control now” and said, “Stop the slaughter of innocents”.

Stephen King’s statement came after a Twitter outrage broke out soon after the incident. Politicians, celebrities and common people took to Twitter and hurled their profanity.

WHAT HAPPENED AT TEXAS SCHOOL?

An 18-year-old shot and killed 19 students and two teachers at an elementary school in Texas, US, on Tuesday, May 24. He also killed his grandmother. Soon after the incident, the shooter was shot dead by responding officers. The incident shocked the country and the world, reigniting the debate over more restrictions on gun use in the US.

Tuesday’s mass shooting incident is the latest among a series of recent incidents and comes just a few days after a gunman opened fire on passersby at a Chicago locality, killing two people.
