Series of loud explosions heard near Beirut airport: Report

Huge explosions lit up the sky near Beirut’s airport early Friday, just minutes after a flight from Dubai landed, reported Reuters. According to flight tracking data from Flightradar24, the flight was Middle East Airlines ME429 from Dubai.

A live footage captured the sky glowing with multiple loud explosions heard, reported Reuters. The explosions reportedly occurred outside the airport, but were visible from Sin El Fil, about 6.8 kilometres northwest of the airport.

No immediate reports confirmed damage or casualties at the airport itself.
