Railways approves second direct Superfast train between Bengaluru and Mumbai – check route, stoppages


Bengaluru to Mumbai Superfast train: Indian Railways (IR) has approved the introduction of a second directly connected Superfast train between Bengaluru and Mumbai. This new direct train has been sanctioned nearly 30 years after the introduction of the Udyan news.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Union Minister Pralhad Joshi thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for sanctioning the new direct Superfast service linking the two capital cities.

“I had requested the Union Railway Minister for this train, which has been our long-standing demand. This Super Fast train will run via the central Karnataka route of Tumakuru, Davanagere, Haveri, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Belagavi to the commercial city of Mumbai, benefiting lakhs of people through this rail connectivity and further boosting trade and commerce,” Joshi said.

In another post, Joshi said: “For the past 30 years, there has been a persistent demand for a Super Fast Train, the Udyan news, directly connecting Bengaluru and Mumbai. ”

Bengaluru Mumbai New Train: Route, Stoppages

The new Bengaluru-Mumbai Superfast train will run via the central Karnataka route i.e. Hubballi-Dharwad. During its journey, the new Bengaluru-Mumbai-Bengaluru Superfast train will stop at various stations including Tumakuru, Davanagere, Haveri, Hubballi-Dharwad and Belagavi.

Presently, the Udyan news train operates on the Bengaluru-Guntakal-Solapur route. The introduction of new superfast train will provide enhanced rail services to the commercial city of Mumbai for the people of Karnataka. The train covers a distance of 1,153 km in 23 hours and 35 minutes. It operates daily and makes 31 stops along its route.

These are: Bengaluru Cant, Yelahanka, Dodballapur, Gauribidanur, Hindupur, Penukonda, Sai P Nilayam, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Manthralayam RD, Raichur, Krishna, Saidapur, Yadgir, Nalwar, Wadi, Shahabad, Kalaburagi, Ganagapur Road, Dudhani, Akalkot Road, Solapur, Kurduvadi, Daund, Uruli, Pune, Lonavala, Kalyan and Dadar.
