‘Operation Sindoor achieved 100% success’: BJP lauds action against Pakistan
Underlining that Operation Sindoor, which India launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, had struck “Punjab, the heart of Pakistan”, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday lauded the Indian armed forces for retaliatory action as one of their kind in the world when it came to an armed conflict between two nuclear-armed nations.
Addressing the media over the achievements of the operation, a day after the Director Generals of the Indian armed forces announced details related to it, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra, expressing the party’s official stand, said it was “100 per cent successful” as far as its stated aims were concerned.
Coming a day after BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with the party’s senior leadership including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh among others, chaired a meeting at the residence of the former, sources said the BJP’s statements related to the operation would be “measured” and aimed at “mainly underlining specific actions and their achievements, both military and otherwise” over the coming days.
“As Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji announced from the soil of Bihar, the objective of Operation Sindoor was the dismantling of terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan,” Patra said.
“This was 100 per cent achieved by our forces, and that too through controlled, measured, precise and non-escalatory action. It is the first such instance in the world where such decisive action, in this case striking at the heart of Pakistan, its heart, was taken by one nuclear-armed nation against another,” he added.
Patra said that in addition to strikes on nine specific locations across both Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK) as well as locations such as Bahawalpur and Sialkot, 20 per cent of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) infrastructure was destroyed by India as part of Operation Sindoor.
The Indian Army, he added, had shown indomitable courage and, coupled with PM Modi’s decision, the operation resulted in the successful destruction of terrorists who were behind specific attacks on Indian soil and their bases.
