The Manipur police has lodged an FIR in opposition to former JNU scholar Sharjeel Imam for his “seditious” remark within the wake of the amended Citizenship Act.

Sharjeel Imam has been charged beneath IPC sections 121 A(conspiracy to salary warfare in opposition to India), 124 A (sedition), 120B (prison conspiracy) and 153 which pertains to “promotingenmity between other spiritual teams with an intent tocreate disharmony”, the police stated.
