Looking forward to making lot of changes: Elon Musk joins Trump at pre-oath rally
Tesla CEO Elon Musk joined Donald Trump at the latter’s pre-inauguration rally in Washington D.C. and told the crowd that he was “looking forward to making a lot of changes” as the US President-elect returns to the White House for a second tenure.
“We are looking forward to making a lot of changes. This victory is the start really. What matters going forward is to actually make significant changes, cement those changes and set the foundation for America to be strong for a century, for centuries, forever. And make America great again,” the tech billionaire said while addressing the Make America Great Again (MAGA) ‘victory rally’ at the Capital One Arena on Sunday night.
“We are going to do great things here.”
The Tesla CEO also brought his son, X Æ A-Xii, whom he refers to as Little X, on stage, calling the four-year-old “a very enthusiastic supporter”.
After Musk’s brief speech, Trump praised the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, and said, “I always say we have to be protective of our geniuses because we don’t have too many. But that one is a good one.”
Musk, along with Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency, an informal advisory body that Trump said will enable his administration to “slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies”.
Musk and Ramaswamy have revealed plans to wipe out scores of federal regulations crafted by what they say is an anti-democratic, unaccountable bureaucracy, but are yet to announce members of the DOGE team.
The SpaceX CEO has suggested that he wants to cut the number of federal agencies from over 400 to 99.
