Lawyers of UnitedHealthcare CEO killing suspect and rapper ‘Diddy’ are married

The lawyers representing Luigi Mangione, accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson and American rapper Sean Combs, also known as ‘Diddy’, who is facing multiple adult assault allegations, are married.

Karen Friedman-Agnifilo, the lawyer representing Luigi, is married to Marc Agnifilio, the lawyer representing ‘Diddy’, The New York Post reported.

Karen is a former prosecutor who joined her husband’s private firm, Agnifilo Intrater, in 2021, after leaving her position as the head of the adult crimes unit in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. She had served seven years as second in command to District Attorney Cyrus Vance before joining Agnifilo Intrater.

Interestingly, Karen had to recuse herself from hearing several cases where her husband was representing the accused, including the prosecution of movie mogul Harvey Weinstien, who was convicted of rape.

Weinstien was represented by a member of the Agnifilo Intrater in 2017 when actress Paz de la Huerta accused Weinstien of raping her several times. Karen Friedman-Agnifilo then had to step down from the case.

Thompson was killed by Luigi, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate from a prominent Maryland real estate family, outside a midtown Manhattan hotel in New York on December 5. He was arrested from a McDonald’s store in Altoona in Pennsylvania on December 10.
