Karnataka “Severely Bearing in mind” Legislation In opposition to Spiritual Conversion: Leader Minister
Bengaluru:
The Karnataka executive is critically bearing in mind bringing in a legislation towards spiritual conversion both by means of pressure or via inducement within the state, Leader Minister Basavaraj Bommai stated these days.
“Such issues (conversions) are taking place right here and there. Couple of days in the past I gave suitable instructions to district administrations to not permit any spiritual conversion via inducement or by means of pressure, as it’s unlawful,” Mr Bommai stated according to a query on alleged incidents of non secular conversions in Kalaburagi and Byadarahalli in Karnataka.
Talking to journalists in Bengaluru, he stated, “as a number of such incidents are taking place, we’re critically bearing in mind a legislation towards spiritual conversion via inducement or by means of pressure.”
State House Minister Araga Jnanendra had final week instructed the legislative meeting that the federal government was once mulling enacting a legislation to control spiritual conversion, as a ruling BJP MLA from Hosadurga Goolihatti Shekhar stated his personal mom has transformed to Christianity falling prey to inducement.
BJP-ruled states like Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have already got regulations to forestall forcible spiritual conversion.
