Israel outlines new ‘stage’ in Gaza offensive as war nears 3 months

As the war between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas nears its 90th day, Israel has outlined its next steps in the Gaza conflict. Along with focusing on the release of remaining hostages, the Israel Defence Force (IDF) will implement a more targeted approach in northern Gaza and will track down Hamas leaders in the south as well, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant stated.

According to Gallant, the army’s operations in northern Gaza will include raids, tunnel demolitions, air and ground strikes, and special forces operations. In the south, the focus will be on eliminating Hamas leaders and rescuing the remaining 130 Israeli hostages on October 7.
