India Names Lonar Lake, Sur Sarovar As Wetlands Of Global Significance

India has named two extra wetlands of global importance– Lonar lake in Maharashtra and Sur Sarovar in Agra– beneath the Ramsar Conference, Union Minister of Surroundings, Wooded area and Local weather Alternate Prakash Javadekar stated on Sunday.
“Satisfied to notice that India has added two extra Ramsar websites. Lonar lake in Maharashtra, the one crater lake of the rustic, and Sur Sarovar, sometimes called Keetham lake in Agra. Wetlands are the sector’s herbal water filters and one of the crucial productive ecosystems in the world,” Mr Javadekar tweeted.
The Ramsar Conference on wetlands is an inter-governmental treaty that gives the framework for nationwide motion and global cooperation for the conservation and smart use of wetlands and their assets.
