Huge blast, then cars fling in air: Israeli strikes hit crowded Tehran area. Video

Iranian media outlets on Wednesday released new footage, which they claim captures an Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) airstrike in Tehran.

The video purportedly shows explosions in a densely populated neighbourhood in northern Tehran. In the visuals, cars with passengers inside appear to be hurled into the air due to the intensity of the blasts. The alleged strike is said to have taken place during Operation “Rising Lion.”

The strikes followed a 12-day air war ignited by Israeli attacks on Iranian sites earlier this month. The United States joined the campaign shortly afterward, citing the need to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Iran, however, insists its nuclear programme is solely for peaceful purposes. But Western powers remain skeptical, mainly after reports emerged that Iran may have moved some of its highly enriched uranium stockpiles before the strikes.
