Gunman who shot Donald Trump identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks: Report


Former US President Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a Saturday campaign rally, in an attack that left the Republican presidential candidate’s face streaked with blood and prompted his security agents to swarm him. Moments later, Trump, in a video, was seen pumping his fist in the air, mouthing the words “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

Meanwhile, a report with the New York Post said the shooter was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was shot and killed by the Secret Service. One of those in the audience was also killed in the attack.

FIRING AT DONALD TRUMP’s RALLY

  • The gunman suspected in the attempted assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on Saturday was shot and killed by the Secret Service. The New York Post, quoting sources, stated the shooter was identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a white male in an elevated sniper position.

  • The report quoted sources and said Crooks was planted on the roof of a manufacturing plant more than 130 yards away from the stage at Butler Farm Show grounds. Bethel Park is a village 40 miles south of where the Butler rally was held.

  • An AR-style rifle was later recovered from Crooks. The motive behind the attack was still unclear, the report stated.
