Govt makes airbag necessary for entrance passenger seat in automobiles

The federal government on Friday stated it has made airbag necessary for passenger within the entrance seat of a car.

A gazette notification relating to necessary provision of an airbag used to be issued, the Ministry of Highway Shipping and Highways (MoRTH) stated.

“Ministry has issued Gazette notification relating to necessary provision of an airbag for passenger seated on entrance seat of a car, subsequent to motive force. This has been mandated as crucial protection characteristic & may be in accordance with tips of Ideally suited Courtroom Committee
on Highway Protection,” it stated.

The ministry additional stated that it’s been mandated that the automobiles manufactured on and after the primary day of April 2021, when it comes to new fashions, and 31st day of August, 2021, when it comes to current fashions, will be fitted with airbag for the individual occupying the entrance seat, as opposed to the motive force.

The step goals at making improvements to passenger protection in case of twist of fate.
