FBI director announces resignation, Trump says ‘great day for America’

FBI Director Christopher Wray has announced that he will resign from his post at the end of President Joe Biden’s term in January. The announcement comes a week and a half after President-elect Donald Trump stated that he would nominate Kash Patel for the position.

Trump applauded the news on social media, calling it “a great day for America as it will end the Weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice”.

Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed his anger on the FBI, accusing the agency of unlawfully raiding his residence without cause.
