The Directorate of Income Intelligence (DRI) on Sunday stated it has recovered Fake Indian foreign money notice (FICN) having face price of Rs one lakh and foreign currencies notes price USD 1.12 lakh from West Bengal in separate operations.
The company arrested two individuals in reference to those circumstances, a DRI reputable stated.
Performing on a tip-off, DRI officers intercepted one individual at Burdwan railway station on Saturday and recovered 50 pretend Indian foreign money notes of Rs 2,000 denomination.
The pretend notes have been sourced from Bangladesh, the reputable stated.
In some other operation performed on Wednesday, DRI body of workers had seized USD 1.12 lakh from a person at Siliguri railway station.
“The seized foreign currencies was once supposed for Bhutan to finance smuggling of products into India,” a remark added.
