Donald Trump PERSONALLY Calling Congresswomen To Change Their Epstein Vote: REPORT – Perez Hilton
Well, this is definitely the action of someone who’s totally innocent, huh?
Wednesday marks a huge turning point in the ongoing — or should we say painfully dragged out — Jeffrey Epstein scandal. After Donald Trump‘s handpicked DOJ and FBI heads declared they would not be following up on any of the information they had — nor sharing the countless evidence collected over the years with the public — many on both sides of the aisle smelled a rat.
We’ve been banging the drum on this for a decade now, and we’ve been pleased to find common ground with some of the MAGA faithful on it. After all, this isn’t politics, it’s just right and wrong. No one involved in underage adult trafficking — whether they participated, covered it up, or just knew and did nothing — should get away with it. PERIOD.
Unfortunately when it comes to congress, the support for that simple premise has been far quieter. All the Democrats in the House declared they’d vote to force the DOJ to release the Epstein files. But only four Republicans signed on. Led by Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky), the other three standing up for what’s right are Lauren Boebert, Nancy Mace, and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Good for them. But that left the vote ONE SHY of the 2018 needed.

However, a special election in Arizona back in September should have changed that. Democrat Adelita Grijalva won in a landslide — and committed to signing on to the somewhat bipartisan discharge petition. But then the government shutdown happened — and House Speaker Mike Johnson refused to swear in the new representative. For a month and a half. When he was told there was precedent, he could swear her in anyway, when he was presented with the growing suspicion this seemed like he was just stalling on the Epstein vote, he claimed there was simply nothing he could do.
Now, however, the shutdown is ending. And on Wednesday Grijalva was finally sworn in, 50 days after her election — reportedly a new record for a delay of being sworn into Congress. But after all that, the vote is finally coming. It’s imminent. Finally. Grijalva told reporters:
“It’s past time for Congress to restore its role as a check and balance on this administration. That is why I will sign the discharge petition right now to release the Epstein files — justice cannot wait another day.”
Of course, if the Epstein scandal is just a distraction, or a red herring, as Speaker Johnson argued, then Trump and co. should just ignore it, right? They’ve denied they’re doing anything to stop the vote, so why should they care?
Well, on Wednesday The New York Times reported what many suspected — that the President himself “has lobbied intensively behind the scenes” to stop this vote by any means necessary. But what can they do now that Dems have the votes they need? Their only chance is to stop those four Republicans. They only need to get to one, right?
MTG has been vocally displeased with her party in a lot of ways the past few weeks. And Massie has been the loudest voice in Congress about this! That left Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace.
NYT congressional correspondent Annie Karni was told Trump called Boebert personally on Tuesday — and was trying to get in touch with Mace. But neither was going to budge, said sources.
So on Wednesday Trump turned up the pressure, per the report! And we don’t mean with his irate Truth Social posts calling it the “Epstein Hoax” and saying “only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap.” No, we mean actual pressure. Scary pressure.
Two sources told Karni that Boebert was summoned to the White House Situation Room where top Trump team officials tried to convince her to change her vote. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel were among them. Surprisingly, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt went on record confirming the meeting took place! She boasted it was proof the administration officials “are willing to sit down with members of Congress and address their concerns.” That’s one way to put it…
What did they discuss exactly? How did they pressure her? And then there’s the scarier question… will it work?? According to Karni’s sources, Boebert is still staying strong:
“My understanding is that the relentless pressure campaign that has included carrot, stick, good cop, bad cop, has made her even more dug in, suspicious and convinced there’s a conspiracy at play.”
Thus far none of the four have wavered publicly on their support. It seems this is happening, and no one can stop it.
If that’s true, Democrats predict a huge wave of Republicans to suddenly find a conscience to vote with. If they’re going to lose the vote anyway, they’ll want to be on the right side of it — that’s the thinking of Congressmen Ro Khanna (D-California), Massie’s partner on this petition. He believes “40 to 50” Republicans will vote to release the files in the end. We guess we’ll see…
The question we have for everyone out there still on the fence… Why would someone try so hard to stop this vote? Why would Trump personally call to try to keep these files hidden away??
