Delivery Driver’s Sweet Note Goes Viral, Raises Funds For His Wedding



A Phoenix, Arizona resident got more than just her Chipotle order when Erica Hernandez opened her delivery bag. Tucked inside was a handwritten note from her delivery driver, Paul Slobodzian, explaining his side hustle. Slobodzian was working extra shifts to save for his dream wedding with his fiance, Aly Perkins. The heartfelt note read: “I’m driving for (a food delivery service) on the side to give my fiance the wedding she deserves. Any additional tip through the app or Venmo is greatly appreciated!”

Touched by Slobodzian’s dedication, Hernandez posted a picture of the note on social media with the caption, “Hopefully this reaches the right people.” What started as a kind gesture on Hernandez’s part, quickly snowballed into something much bigger. Despite her modest following, the video went viral, amassing over 33 million views!

“I just wanted to see if my friends or followers would be willing to help out,” Hernandez told Fox News.
The power of social media took hold. Slobodzian’s Venmo account overflowed with donations from touched viewers. Even Chipotle and a wedding planner joined the giving spirit, contributing to the couple’s dream wedding.

In less than a week, the couple had received enough money to throw the perfect celebration for them and Aly. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Slobodzian took to social media, expressing his heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated.
