Congress, BJP sparred over High Minister Narendra Modi’s Satyagraha commentary (Report)

New Delhi:

The Congress and the BJP on Friday sparred over High Minister Narendra Modi’s commentary that he did satyagraha for Bangladesh’s freedom, with the opposition party wondering the remark’s veracity and the ruling party saying that it used to be true.

Addressing the primary golden jubilee celebrations of Bangladesh’s Independence and the start centenary of its founder Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Dhaka within the presence of his counterpart Sheikh Hasina and President Abdul Hamid, PM Modi recalled the 1971 warfare and stated the images of atrocities that the Pakistan Military inflicted at the other people in then East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) used to disturb other people in India.

“I will have to had been 20-22 years previous once I and my colleagues did satyagraha for Bangladesh’s freedom,” he stated.

Tagging the top minister’s remarks, Mr Tharoor stated, “Global training: our PM is giving Bangladesh a style of Indian “faux information”. The absurdity is that we all know who liberated Bangladesh.”

Every other Congress chief Jairam Ramesh shared a caricature taking a dig at PM Modi and tweeted, “Complete Political Science through Narendra Modi.”

BJP’s IT mobile leader Amit Malviya tweeted, “Was once High Minister Modi a part of satyagrah organised through Jana Sangha for reputation of Bangladesh? Sure, he used to be.”

“A quotation awarded through Bangladesh to Vajpayee ji speaks of the rally. PM Modi, in a ebook authored in 1978, additionally wrote about going to Tihar all over Bangladesh satyagrah!” he stated and shared a snapshot of the quotation to Mr Vajpayee.
