Congress Declares Checklist Of 26 Applicants For Assam Elections

The Congress on Wednesday introduced a listing of 26 applicants for the Assam Meeting polls.

Tamal Kanti Banik has been fielded from Silchar, Pradyut Kumar Bhuyan from Nalbari, Suresh Bohra from Barhampur and Swapan Kar from Lumding, in step with the checklist.

That is the 3rd checklist of the party for the Assam polls. It had previous introduced lists of 40 and 3 applicants on two separate events.

In the meantime, the party additionally named Mohan Prakash and Jayadev Jena as observers for the Assam meeting polls.

In January, the Congress had appointed Chhattisgarh Leader Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the party’s common secretary Mukul Wasnik and senior chief Shakeel Ahmad Khan as senior observers for the Assam meeting polls.

The Congress is contesting the approaching polls as part of the “Grand Alliance” along side the AIUDF, BPF, CPI(M), CPI, CPI-ML and the Anchalik Gana Morcha. Elections to the 126-member Assam meeting shall be held in 3 levels on March 27, April 1 and April 6.
