Closing prices for crude oil, gold and other commodities
Benchmark U.S. crude oil for August supply fell 16 cents to settle at $40.59 a barrel Friday. Brent crude oil for September supply fell 23 cents to $43.14 a barrel.
Wholesale gas for August supply fell 1 cent to $1.22 a gallon. August heating oil fell 1 cent to $1.22 a gallon. August herbal gasoline fell 1 cent to $1.72 in step with 1,000 cubic toes.
Gold for August supply rose $nine.70 to $1,810 an oz., silver for September supply rose 19 cents to $19.76 an oz. and September copper used to be unchanged at $2.90 a pound.
The greenback fell to 106.96 Eastern yen from 107.38 yen. The euro rose to $1.1436 from $1.1379.
