Chinese Firm VIVO Pulls Out As IPL Title Sponsor For This Season Amid Row | Cricket News

VIVO has pulled out because the name sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for this year’s edition, following backlash on social media. VIVO had paid Rs 2,199 crore for a five-year contract in 2018. The BCCI on Sunday had introduced that every one sponsors have been being retained, however VIVO pulled out following complaint on social media within the backdrop of the clashes between Indian and Chinese language troops in Ladakh in June. The Indian cricket board on Sunday had introduced that the 2020 season will be played from September 19 to November 10 within the United Arab Emirates.

Talking to PTI, an IPL Governing Council member on Sunday stated that every one sponsors were retained for IPL 2020.

“All I will be able to say is that every one our sponsors are with us. Expectantly you’ll learn between the traces,” he instructed PTI on stipulations of anonymity after Sunday’s assembly.

The IPL 2020 shall be held at 3 venues within the UAE — Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi — matter to executive approval.
