Six organisations of the Chakma neighborhood in Tripura staged an illustration outdoor the Bangladesh Prime Fee In Agartala these days to protest in opposition to an alleged assault on a Buddhist monastery within the neighbouring nation.

The organisations that staged protests include Chakma Buddhist Welfare Society, Younger Chakma Affiliation, Tripura Chakma Scholars Affiliation, Chakma Nationwide Council of India and Tripura Rejjyo Chakma Gabuchya Joda.

On October 24, a mob allegedly set on fire the Katakhali Woodland Buddhist Monastery in Cox’s Bazar district of Bangladesh.

No less than 8 other people from the Chakma neighborhood, together with girls, had been injured within the assault.

The Chakma organisations submitted a memorandum addressed to Bangladesh Top Minister Sheikh Hasina on the Prime Fee in Agartala.

The memorandum mentioned, “The assault on Katakhali Woodland Buddhist Monastery that came about following a chain of incidents of vandalism and arson of Hindu temples, Durga Puja pandals, and assaults on Hindu minorities from 13 October 2021 displays that the federal government of Bangladesh has no longer taken any measure to verify coverage of the spiritual minorities within the nation.”

“It is because the federal government of Bangladesh as on date has did not punish those that destroyed 19 Buddhist temples and about 100 homes at Ramu, Cox’s Bazar and Patiya of Chittagong in 2012,” the memorandum mentioned.

The organisations “reminded” the Bangladesh executive that it “has the duty of shielding the lifestyles, belongings and proper of the spiritual minorities to follow their faith”.

They demanded that the Bangladesh Top Minister deliver the perpetrators of the Buddhist monastery assault to justice and make sure prosecution of those that destroyed 19 Buddhist temples and about 100 houses at Ramu, Cox’s Bazar and Patiya of Chittagong in 2012 via fast-track courts.
