Bengal Minister Accuses Amit Shah Of Spreading Incorrect information On Fund Disbursement

West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra on Sunday accused Union House Minister Amit Shah of offering incorrect information about disbursement of budget through the centre to the state right through a political rally and challenged him for a debate.

He mentioned the state executive had won Rs 1.13 lakh crore from the centre within the ultimate six years, which is “not anything greater than one-third of what the Union minister claimed”.

Mr Shah, in his fresh seek advice from to the poll-bound West Bengal, had reportedly mentioned the centre supplied Rs 3.59 lakh crore to the state.

“He has given flawed, deceptive and politically-motivated data. The centre, as part of the federal construction, collects taxes from states and stocks. We had won most effective Rs 1.13 lakh crore within the ultimate 6 years  (FY14 to FY20),” Mr Mitra advised journalists.

Relating to his estimate, Mr Mitra mentioned the centre may have accumulated round Rs five lakh crore in those years within the type of direct and oblique taxes from West Bengal and despatched most effective Rs 1.13 lakh crore via central schemes.

Mr Mitra mentioned the West Bengal executive had spent Rs 3.1 lakh crore in those six years in several initiatives, which can be totally backed through the state, except for expenditures like wage, pension and different administrative bills.
