Since India is these days on lockdown because of coronavirus pandemic, there was a demand to re-telecast the long-lasting Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan and BR Chopra’s Mahabharat. Doordarshan has taken the demand under consideration and Ramayan shall be back on the small display from Saturday, March 28, on DD Nationwide.

Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Data and Broadcasting, took to Twitter to announce the scoop to the enthusiasts and wrote, “Glad to announce that on public demand, we’re beginning retelecast of ‘Ramayana’ from the next day, Saturday March 28 in DD Nationwide, One episode in morning nine am to 10 am, every other in the night nine pm to 10 pm. @narendramodi @PIBIndia @DDNational.”

The primary episode of Ramayan will air in the morning from nine am to 10 am, whilst the second one shall be aired in the night from nine pm to 10 pm.

Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan aired from 1987 to 1988. The big name forged incorporated Arun Govil, Dipika Chikhlia, Dara Singh, Sunil Lahri, Lalit Pawar and Padma Khanna amongst others.
