Ariana Grande Calls Out ‘Really Dangerous’ Body Shaming Comments Amid Fan Concerns! – Perez Hilton
Ariana Grande is sick of the comments about her body.
A few years ago, fans started to criticize the pop star’s weight a lot, saying she is “too thin.” Ari asked in the past for people to be “gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what,” even if they believe their remarks are “well-intentioned.” Why? Because, as she pointed out, “you never know what someone is going through,” and “there are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful.” Exactly!

However, fans ignored or forgot her pleas. Amid the promo tour for Wicked: For Good, the comments about not only her body but the bodies of her co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Michelle Yeoh have increased. There are tons of viral videos, posts, and remarks online this month, with fans making assumptions about their health based on their thinner looks. It’s unnecessary, and Ariana wants to remind everyone it’s also “really dangerous.”
On Saturday, the actress took to Instagram Stories to post a video from an interview she did last year about the body shaming comments as a “friendly reminder” to everyone. Ariana noted in the clip that she is no stranger to those kinds of remarks, but she feels it is so harmful to everyone involved:
“In today’s society, there is a comfortability that we shouldn’t have at all — commenting on others’ looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes, or health or how they present themselves, from what you’re wearing to your body to your face to your everything. There’s a comfortability people have commenting on that, that I think is really dangerous. And I think it’s dangerous for all parties involved.”
So true. The Victorious alum added in the caption:
“Resharing this from last year as a loving reminder to all. I always love and appreciate our talks so much @sally !!!”
It’s a shame Ari keeps having to address this matter. Check out her posts (below):

No matter if people have the best intentions in mind, it is clear Ariana wants the comments about her body — and everyone else’s in the Wicked crew — to end. Hopefully, everyone will finally take the hint. You can watch the full clip of Ariana’s important reminder (below):
