Romania’s presidential elections: A pivotal political showdown

Romanians began voting on Sunday in the initial round of a presidential election, which could see a far-right nationalist competing against the current leftist prime minister in the run-off.

The election has thirteen candidates from the EU and NATO member nations, with the likely second round scheduled for December 8. Overseas voting started on Friday.
