88 Applicants To Contest For 7 UP Meeting Bypoll Seats

A complete of 88 applicants for seven seats are contesting the Uttar Pradesh meeting bypolls after the remaining date of withdrawal for nominations for it on Monday.

“80-eight applicants left within the fray after the withdrawal procedure were given over. The remaining date for submitting nominations for the bypolls used to be on October 16. The papers have been scrutinised on Saturday whilst Monday is the remaining date for the withdrawal of nominations,” a state Election Fee reliable mentioned right here.

A complete of 132 applicants had filed nominations for the seven seats, he mentioned including after the withdrawal procedure, now 88 applicants are left.

The utmost selection of 18 applicants are contesting from Bulandshahr whilst minimal six applicants are contesting from Ghatampur (Kanpur), he mentioned.

Polling will likely be hung on November three and the effects will likely be declared seven days later.

The seven Meeting seats come with Naugaon and Ghatampur (Kanpur) which fell vacant after deaths of state ministers Chetan Chauhan and Kamal Rani Varun respectively.

Any other meeting seat Tundla in Firozabad district fell vacant following the election of sitting MLA S P Singh Baghel to the Lok Sabha.

Bangarmau meeting seat in Unnao district fell vacant after the conviction of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in a rape case.

Bulandshahr, Deoria and Malhani seats fell vacant following deaths of sitting MLAs Virendra Singh Sirohi and Janmejay Singh of the BJP and Parasnath Yadav of the SP.

The BJP has fielded Sangeeta Chauhan from Naugaon Sadatafter the loss of life of her husband Chetan Chauhan, a global cricketer.

The ruling party has additionally fielded the spouse of every other deceased MLA, Virendra Singh Sirohi. Usha Sirohi will contest the bypoll in Bulandshahr on a BJP price tag.

In Bangarmau, the party has given price tag to Shrikant Katiyar.
