As many as 16 bodies have been found at the Nepal plane crash site so far. Policemen and army officers are looking for the rest of the six bodies.

After hitting the top of the mountain, the bodies and the debris of the plane had spread across a radius of about 100 metre, police said.

The airport authority said the plane crashed after colliding at an altitude of 14,500 feet.

A team of 15 Nepal Army soldiers had been dropped near the site to retrieve the bodies, the Nepal Army spokesperson said.

The crash site was at a height of about 14,500 feet, while the team had been dropped at 11,000 metre, he said.

The Nepal home ministry spokesperson, Phadindra Mani Pokhrel, said, “We suspect all passengers on board the aircraft have lost their lives. Our preliminary assessment shows that no one could have survived the plane crash, but official statement is yet to come.”

“Due to bad weather at the accident site, the helicopter that went to bring the bodies could not land there. All dead bodies will be brought directly to Kathmandu,” said officials.
